Thick, creamy & so sickly!
Ingredients
100g Hazelnuts
50g Cashews
3 tbsp Shelled Hemp Seeds
100g Frozen Raspberries (or fresh)
2 Bananas
100g Dates
3 tsp Raw Cacao or Cocoa Powder
Maple Syrup/Agave Syrup/Butterscotch Sauce (to serve)
Makes 1 litre approx.
Method
Firstly roast your hazelnuts, you don’t have to but it helps bring out their flavour, they’ll need 10-15 min at 180ºc, ours took 12 min, when you can smell their amazing aroma they’re nearly done! If you prefer not to have the skins on the hazelnuts you can rub them in a towel after roasting to remove them.
Put your hazelnuts, cashews, & hemps seeds in a blender with enough water to just cover the nuts, blend until completely smooth.
Add the rest of the ingredients except the syrup and add water until you reach the 1 litre mark on your blender. Blend until smooth.
Serve with a generous helping of your chosen syrup and enjoy!
This smoothie is great for a chocolate fix, due to the fat content from the nuts and seeds it should work well as an ice cream too, although it didn’t last long enough for us to try that!
